ANDREA and JESSICA
We met in junior high while playing in a youth orchestra. Throughout our high school and college years, we performed in many symphony and pit orchestra concerts together, as well as for other private events, church services, and weddings. As our friendship blossomed and our musical abilities matured, we decided to form a duo ensemble. We officially organized the Sveltezza Ensemble in 2011, and we now perform for a variety of events all over the Chicagoland area, Northwest Indiana, and Wisconsin. Weddings comprise the largest share of our performances, but we also play for anniversary parties, luncheons, funerals, religious services, corporate events, bridal shows, holiday parties, and musical theater shows.
We have been fortunate to meet many talented and professional instrumentalists with whom we collaborate to form trios and quartets upon request. Our most commonly requested ensembles are string duo, trio, and quartet, but we love playing with flute, trumpet, harp, and piano as well!
We both maintain full teaching schedules at our home studios, local performing arts schools, and as adjunct professors at Lewis University. We host recitals and seek other performance opportunities that feature our combined studios in order to add variety to the performances and foster a collaborative learning environment for our violin, cello, and piano students. In the summer of 2016 we, along with other local string teachers, organized a week-long music camp for our students to provide them with a chamber music experience.
After performing for numerous client weddings, we finally had the opportunity to plan our own weddings! Jessica married Connor in October 2014, and Andrea married John in June 2015. We were both honored to have the other supporting us as a bridesmaid when we said "I DO."
